Anabella Schuman, DVM

Bella Schuman is the newest member of the veterinary team at South Bay Veterinary Group. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, she pursued her childhood dream of improving the lives of animals by earning a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Tufts University in 2024. She previously obtained a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Pennsylvania State University.

Dr. Schuman fell in love with Boston and is thrilled to practice veterinary medicine in her favorite city. She is passionate about low-stress handling techniques and is Fear Free Certified, focusing on creating a calm and stress-free environment for her patients. Her professional interests also include preventative medicine and soft tissue surgery.

In her free time, Dr. Schuman enjoys running with her dog, Jasmine, trying new restaurants around Boston, reading and traveling. One of her most memorable experiences was spending a summer studying abroad in Thailand, where she volunteered at an elephant sanctuary. There, she assisted veterinarians in treating elephants, horses, dogs and cats, which deeply enriched her understanding and love for veterinary medicine.

Dr. Schuman is committed to providing the highest standard of care for her patients and is excited to serve the pets and pet owners of the South End and Beacon Hill.
